Registered Nurse - University Surgical Oncology

Overview

University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position for University Surgical Oncology, located within the UT Medical Center Cancer Institute. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to work under deadlines in a very fast-paced office. Applicants must be familiar with scheduling surgeries, giving instructions, writing orders, and making the patients their top priority. This position will work closely with physicians to provide a seamless patient experience.

Hours 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Full benefit package available, including PTO, Sick Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, 401k with company match and immediate vesting, Life Insurance, Critical Illness, and more!

• Provide complete patient assessment, including vital signs and pre-examination procedures in clinic setting. Gathers and assesses objective and subjective data from the patient.
• Documents data and assessments in the patient electronic record
• Assists the providers in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care.
• Medication reconciliation, management, patient compliance, inventory, education.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, sound judgments based on the presenting data, and a timely response based on the expected patient outcome and standards of care as well as unit/organizational policies.
• Surgery knowledge including scheduling, communicating surgery instructions and treatment plans to patient. The position will include rotation of triage nurse call for urgent medical issues
• Maintain current CPR for Health Care Providers.
• Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance

• RN License
• Prior medical experience preferred
