Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Step-Down Unit (with $7,350 Completion Bonus)

Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) – Step-Down Unit - Travel Position (with $7,350 Completion Bonus)

Location:

Knoxville, TN | Job Type: Travel Contract | Duration: 13 weeks | Shift: 3x12 Nights | Pay: $2,055.60/week (plus $2,450 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,350 after three contracts)

Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring.
  • Perform frequent assessments and monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and lab results.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as prescribed.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care when necessary.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and discharge planning.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
  • Licensure: Current RN license in [State].
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required
    • Telemetry or Critical Care Certification – Preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of acute care experience; step-down, IMC, or telemetry experience strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and intermediate-level critical care.
  • Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient care for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for operating monitoring equipment and performing nursing procedures.
