Computer Science and Information Technology Adjunct Faculty Description
South College's Online Campus continues to be one of the fastest growing in the country and is looking for capable, successful, and excited instructors to help us produce great student outcomes! We are searching for a Hybrid Computer Science and Information Technology Adjunct to join the team.
This position is hybrid remote. This role requires for the chosen candidate to be present at our Knoxville Campus in Knoxville, TN at least one day a week for in person courses. The remaining role requirements can be completed remotely.
Specific course needs are as follows:- Software Development & Programming: Object-Oriented Programming, Programming in Java, Mobile App Development, Website Design/App for IT, Advanced Web Design, Secure Software Design.
- Cybersecurity & Networking: Advanced Cybersecurity, Network Security, Networks and Telecommunications, Wireless Networks, Network Planning & Maintenance.
- Data Science & Intelligent Systems: Data Mining, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision and Sensors, Decision Networks and Graphs.
- Systems & Architecture: Computer Architecture, Systems Analysis and Design, Information Systems Design (Capstone), and Optimization of Hardware–Software Integration.
- User Experience & Interface Design: User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design, Human–Computer Interaction, Usability Testing, and Interactive Prototyping focused on enhancing accessibility and engagement.
Education
Candidates must evidence the following:
- A minimum of an acceptable master’s degree in the specific subject matter field (doctorate preferred) for undergraduate courses and an earned doctoral degree and satisfactory completion of 18 graduate semester hours in subject matter field for graduate courses
Experience
- Experience teaching similar courses at a higher education institute.
- Preference will be given for candidates with experience teaching online.
