Fort Sanders Health & Fitness Center is not just Knoxville’s best gym; it is a 5-star health club. The facility offers a wide variety of group fitness classes, indoor and outdoor tennis, heated indoor and outdoor pool, pickleball, racquetball, squash, childcare, basketball court, and a full selection of strength and cardio equipment. The center is the only Tennessee Quality award‑winning fitness facility in the state and offers programs including aquatics, racquet sports, youth classes, individual training, weight management, small group training, virtual fitness, and community‑based group fitness through Covenant’s BodyWORKS Program.

The Manager, Environmental Services will be responsible for the overall daily operations of the Environmental Services department. Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, communicating policy and procedure, establishing best practice standards, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility.

• Informs staff of job responsibilities, performance expectations, customer service, corporate policies, and guidelines.
• Coordinates schedules to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Responsible for hiring and training staff.
• Maintains supplies and products; orders as necessary.
• Establishes guidelines and cleaning protocols.
• Performs cleaning functions and assists in cleaning of emergency spills.
• Reports the need for repairs to equipment, furnishings, buildings, and fixtures.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards; completes required education assignments annually; works toward achieving goals and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job. Typically equivalent to an Associate’s degree. Preference may be given to individuals possessing an Associate’s degree in a directly‑related field from an accredited college or university.
