Global Medical Response (GMR) is an authorized provider of the DOD Skill Bridge program, offering Service Members the opportunity to gain civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships. Under the Skill Bridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The Skill Bridge Program with GMR will run for up to 180 days.
We’re hiring Paramedics for our DOD Skill Bridge Program who are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care to our customers.
- Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
- Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
- Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
- Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
- Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
- Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with allied health and public safety personnel as well as fellow Paramedics.
Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in community programs to maintain GMR image and establish strong community relations.
Required Qualifications
- Current Active-Duty Service Member
- Meets DoD Skill Bridge Qualifications
- Available to participate 90 days
- Obtain approval from your unit commander and acknowledge that Skill Bridge participation can be terminated at any time by the Service if mission requirements dictate
- Work remotely in the continental US
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- State Driver’s License
- National or State PARAMEDIC Certification (as Applicable)
- CPR Certification
- PALS Certification
- PHTLS or ITLS Certification
- Pass Physical Ability Test
- Driving Record in Compliance with Company Policy
