Duties

Responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of persons seeking professional help for mental health and co-occurring issues.

Job Purpose / Summary

The Preferred Provider Program is committed to providing stability and comprehensive mental health treatment to the severely and persistently mentally ill population, ensuring access to cost‑effective, high‑quality services.

Summary of Position
  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning for adults and children.
  • Initial assessments, triage/crisis counseling, individual therapy.
  • Primary clinical liaison with local medical providers for co‑management.
Typical Working Conditions / Environment
  • Office‑based position located at the Military Services Building.
  • All necessary equipment provided on site.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team approach to meet clinical needs of consumers referred through the Preferred Provider program.
    • Attend scheduled administrative team meetings punctually.
    • Respond to all flags, emails, and voicemails within 1–2 business days.
    • Provide clinical supervision to non‑licensed staff, sign off on treatment plans and supervision logs.
  • Complete all documentation in compliance with CARF and MCO standards.
    • Clinical notes within 2 business days and intake documentation within 4 business days.
    • Maintain high‐quality chart evidence (DSM‑5 diagnosis, therapy plans, action‑oriented statements, substance abuse screening, outcome scales).
  • Ensure therapist productivity targets are met.
    • Intake session time 45–60 minutes.
    • Fill 100% of assigned therapy slots weekly.
    • Maintain 75% show rate for individual therapy clients.
    • Provide crisis assessment/intervention and minimum 6 hours of face‑to‑face care per day.
  • Coordinate services in a team environment.
    • Professional interaction with employees, clients, and community organizations.
    • Serve as primary liaison with local medical providers and facilitate co‑management.
    • Maintain reliable attendance and a positive, cooperative attitude.

    Employee may also perform other reasonable duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

    Compensation

    Starting salary approximately $54,063 per year based on experience and education.

    Schedule
    • Regular schedule Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
    • No on‑call; employee is off on Center holidays.
    • Daily in‑person attendance required except for approved time off.
    Travel

    May be required to travel to conferences or meetings as applicable.

    Equipment / Technology
    • Basic computer skills for timekeeping, scheduling, EMR entry, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
    • Telehealth equipment may be required for service delivery.
    Qualifications – Licensed Clinical Social Worker Experience / Knowledge
    • Coursework and/or experience in psychopathology, counseling, theory, cultural diversity, human development, and treatment of alcohol/drug abuse and mental illness.
    • Three years of experience with LCSW or LPC preferred.
    Education / License
    • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
    • Active license to practice in Tennessee required.
    Physical / Emotional / Social
    • Valid driver’s license; lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull up to 150 lbs.
    • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
    • Skill in crisis intervention, including therapeutic holding and de‑escalation techniques.
    • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to demonstrate boundaries, empathic listening, flexibility, and adaptability with diverse populations.
    Location

    McNabb Center (Military Services Building).
