EMT Military Fellowship (Multiple Locations)
MUST BE ACTIVE-DUTY MILITARY TO QUALIFY
Global Medical Response (GMR) is an authorized provider of the DOD Skill Bridge program, offering Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships. Under the Skill Bridge program, GMR hosts active‑duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active‑duty obligated service. The program will run for up to 180 days.
We’re hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for our DOD Skill Bridge Fellowship that will respond to emergency and non‑emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high‑quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients.
Key Qualifications- Current Active‑Duty Service Member
- Meets DoD Skill Bridge Qualifications
- Available to participate for 90 days
- Obtain approval from unit commander and acknowledge that participation can be terminated at any time by the Service
- Work remotely in the continental U.S.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- State EMT License (as applicable)
- State Driver’s License
- BLS, NREMT certification
- Driving record compliant with company policy
- Pass Physical Agility Test
- Some work experience, preferably in healthcare
- EMTs provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services using appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
- Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑stocked environment for patients.
- Use EMT skills to provide care including communication, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment, and tools.
- Operate an ambulance in conjunction with applicable company safety policies and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles.
- Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as fellow EMTs.
- Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
