GI for Kids is seeking a full-time Radiology/Ultrasound Technologist for our Knoxville office. This candidate will be part of a dynamic team to support our large, privately owned specialty practice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare exam room and ultrasound and radiology equipment to conduct examinations.
- Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating sonography, x‑ray and fluoroscopy equipment as specified by provider order.
- Instructs/communicates with patient and patient family regarding the test to be performed and answers questions.
- Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the sonography and radiology examinations.
- Maintain sonography and radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders.
- Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
- Ensure that the sonography examination or radiology order is complete.
- Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination or test and associated procedures.
- Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography or radiology tests.
- Apply independent judgment during the sonography examinations and radiology tests to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the examination images.
- Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examinations or radiology tests.
- Review examination images and prepare/send the scans to Radiology group for interpretation.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and facility policies, and procedures.
- Adhere to accepted professional and ethical standards.
- Graduate of accredited Sonography and Radiology programs
- National Certification
- ARDMS registered/eligible
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
