Position DescriptionAssistant Residential Supervisor
Reports ToProgram Coordinator/Residential Supervisor
Job SummaryResponsible for assisting with the operations of a Supported Living Home(s) under the supervision of the Residential Supervisor and the general direction of the Program Coordinator/Area Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions- Oversee work performance of direct support staff, including direct supervision and resolving problems during absence of specific instructions, e.g., managing overtime and staffing issues.
- Perform duties related to the health of individuals served, including scheduling and attending medical appointments; monitoring medications and reviewing MARs; ordering and discarding unused or expired medications; following up with professionals (PT, OT, SLP, Nutritionist); ensuring all medical forms are completed before leaving the medical office.
- Ensure the welfare and safety of the individual served by maintaining proper storage of food, supplies, and equipment; keeping the home clean and sanitary; maintaining Evergreen vehicles (cleaning, fuel, routine maintenance); reporting all accidents, incidents, and medication errors.
- Monitor the individual’s petty cash, budget requirements, and expenditures, including tracking receipts and monitoring food stamp accounts.
- Review and complete written reports relating to the Supported Living home(s) (documentation checklist, weekly summaries, monthly reviews).
- Ensure that all policies, rules, and regulations are followed.
- Supervise the individual’s transportation requirements.
- Resolve problems during absence of specific instructions.
- Perform other duties required by the needs of the individual served, Circle of Support, Residential Supervisor, Program Supervisor/Area Supervisor, or Executive Director.
- Combination of education or experience equivalent to a 2-year degree in one of the behavioral sciences or experience in supporting individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
- Prior supervisory experience desired.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful situation.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to move constantly to coordinate work.
- Must be constantly alert and observative during working hours.
- Occasionally exposed to viruses and infectious conditions.
- Ability to interact with the public in a manner reflecting creditably upon the organization and maintain harmony with individuals served and staff.
- Must be adaptable and make decisions.
- May be required to attend seminars or job-related training courses.
- Must demonstrate understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with individuals served, their families or advocates, and other agencies involved.
- Must maintain good working relationships with Evergreen staff and external contacts.
- Must prioritize work tasks.
- Must work without close personal supervision.
Must have a good driving record, reliable transportation, and meet company requirements. Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Must be able to work some evenings when required.
Working EnvironmentMay be required to work in a variety of settings, both indoors and outdoors. Some travel may be required in a personal vehicle.
