We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves traveling between our clinics located in Morristown, Sweetwater, and Downtown Knoxville. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care and support clinical operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Travel between designated clinic locations with a company car.
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document patient history.
- Manage patient telephone messages and accurately record medical information in charts and EMR.
- Process prescription refills and complete prior authorizations.
- Assist with FMLA and Short-Term Disability documentation.
- Communicate lab results to patients and coordinate specialist referrals.
- Perform blood draws as ordered by providers.
- Prepare charts and request records from referring providers for upcoming visits.
- Maintain inventory and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked.
- Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Respond promptly and effectively to urgent situations.
- Foster positive relationships with providers and team members.
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (required).
- 1–2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting.
- OB/GYN experience is highly preferred.
This position is based in a high-volume OBGYN clinic specializing in high-risk pregnancies. Typical work hours are 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with half-day Fridays ending around 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
