THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN.

JOB SUMMARY/

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Medical Technical Assistant 1 supports the Occupational Health program by providing clinical and administrative support to physicians, residents, students, patients, outside clients/customers, and other staff.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares patients for physician by obtaining vital signs weights/measurements per protocols.
  • Verifies patient medications and allergies.
  • Triages on the job injuries according to protocols.
  • Performs blood draws, nasal swabs, ear and eye irrigations.
  • Administers injections, record vaccinations; applies bandages, splits/braces.
  • Assists physician with minor procedures.
  • Processes CLIA waived testing
  • Reviews patient charts for accuracy
  • Documents work status, make referrals, and schedules follow up appointments.
  • Performs various patient tests.
  • Responds to and process medical records requests for patients and clients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of clinical experience.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: CMA, CCMA or LPN. Must be Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed in Tennessee (LPN). (CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
    • Ability to perform venipunctures, administer injections, and measure vital signs.
    • Ability to operate clinical equipment.
    • Good attention to detail.
