Job Title
Medical Professional, LPN – Octapharma Plasma, Inc.
SummaryJoin Octapharma Plasma’s growing team as a Medical Professional, LPN. In this role you will support donors and patients by evaluating donor eligibility, performing medical evaluations, and ensuring compliance with FDA, CLIA, and cGMP standards.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility for plasmapheresis procedures and immunizations through evaluations in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.
- Review and explain informed consent forms, including procedures, potential adverse events, immunization schedules, antibody formation, and dose administration.
- Perform medical history reviews and health assessments for donors.
- Use SOPs to facilitate compliance with regulations.
- Review donor management system and/or immunization paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze accumulated data to confirm eligibility and consult with the donor center licensed physician as needed.
- Classify donors to the appropriate program.
- Monitor donor reactions to plasmapheresis and document accordingly.
- Perform duties for the Hyperimmune Program when applicable, as described in SOPs.
- Review all normal and abnormal test results in the donor management system (Nexlynk) to determine continued donor eligibility.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee, donor, and donor center records while performing all duties.
- Counsel donors with abnormal test results or eligibility concerns and defer them per the donor deferral matrix; refer donors to appropriate county/state health departments or similar for follow‑up testing when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of a recognized healthcare‑related educational program (e.g., Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse).
- Certified/licensed as an EMT Basic, EMT‑2 intermediate, or EMT‑3 advanced/paramedic if allowable.
- Work within the scope of the professional license/certification, as defined by the state where work is performed.
- One (1) year of experience in a hospital, field care, or plasma center preferred.
- Maintain a current and valid license and pass medical credential evaluation.
- Successfully complete the training program and competency assessments using OPI‑approved training modules or curriculum.
- Maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
