Role: The President of 7 Mortgage is responsible for mentoring, leading, and directing all service and operational activities of the Mortgage CUSO, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision, strategic objectives, performance expectations, and long-term success. This role oversees the full end-to-end mortgage operation, including partner loan officers, processors, underwriters, closers, post-closing, and business development efforts, ensuring exceptional service delivery to the partner credit unions served by 7 LLC, along with operational excellence and sustainable growth.
The President provides strategic leadership in the enhancement and continuous improvement of mortgage processes, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and high-quality experiences for both members and partner credit unions. This position is accountable for executing growth strategies, optimizing operational performance, and maintaining full compliance with all regulatory, agency, and investor requirements.
As the senior leader of the mortgage organization, the President mentors, develops, and directs all employees, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, productivity, and high performance. The role ensures that all policies, procedures, and programs are effective, well-governed, and aligned with the financial and strategic goals of the organization.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Ensures pipelines are continually monitored and worked according to agreed upon service level agreements. Monitors and implements process improvements to enhance service delivery, cycle times, quality, and productivity.
- Leads an organization that is keenly focused on accuracy of all loan data to include initial data entry, extracts to third parties, imports from vendors, and reporting to internal colleagues, external partners, regulators, and investors. Ensures strong controls and adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Ensures full compliance with federal, state, investor, and agency regulations. Establishes and maintains sound risk-management practices and audit-ready operational standards.
- Develops, trains, and coaches leaders and employees to ensure the organization is performing at optimal levels. Provides direction, guidance, and ultimate decision making to maintain compliance and adherence to all policies, procedures and guidelines. Leads and mentors mortgage leaders and staff, cultivating a high performing, engaged, and accountable team. Supports talent development through coaching, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Drives growth of the company by developing new products, creating new marketing initiatives, solidifying new credit union relationships, and by executing effective pricing strategies. Assists in the development and execution of the mortgage strategy to achieve organizational financial goals and long-term growth objectives. Identifies opportunities for expanding mortgage products, partnerships, and market reach.
- Maintains a great working relationship with the Board and owners by providing excellent verbal and written communication and timely and accurate reporting. Partners closely with executive leadership, credit union stakeholders, and external partners to support organizational objectives. Represents the Mortgage CUSO in strategic discussions, industry forums, and key decision-making processes.
- Leads the company to financial success by developing and adhering to an annual budget. Continually reviews expenses for savings opportunities and maximizes revenue growth through production and pricing strategies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Minimum 10 years of mortgage experience required
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in the financial services industry required
- Must have experience in a leadership position in a mortgage production environment
Bachelor's degree in business management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience required.
Other skills required- Certification/License Must be able to obtain/maintain NMLS Licensing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the ability to quickly learn other systems as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, champion/lead projects and project teams.
- Must be accustomed to working with deadlines.
