- Assists Lenders in completing loan requests, performs comprehensive loan request reviews, verifies compliance with loan policy, submits loans for booking and completes loan disbursements.
- Obtains necessary documents for approval and security perfections, including but not limited to credit bureau reports, flood determinations, title opinions and title policies.
- Places orders for Residential Evaluation Report or Full Appraisal requests with our third-party vendor, and reviews completed reports for accuracy and distribution to the lender and client.
- Prepares or obtains additional documents or reports in preparation for sending to the processing department for loan document production.
- Required to be familiar with HMDA reporting requirements, identifying such loans and gathering necessary reporting information.
- Reviews proof of sufficient insurance on collateral to be taken and delivers to our third-party company for tracking within a timely manner post-closing. All flood insurance must be approved by the appropriate authority before closing.
- Acts as a liaison with lender, borrower (as applicable), loan document preparation department, and third-party vendors in coordinating receipt and review of required documents to expedite the closing process.
- Reviews loan documents prepared in-house or by legal counsel.
- Coordinates HELOC closings with title companies and effectively communicates with Lenders.
- Sends documents out for recording as necessary and tracking of any applicable related documents until received.
- Finalizes closed loan package; handles disbursement of loan proceeds including providing ticket instructions to the lender for closing.
- Tracks missing items on checklist and works to clear Loan Document Exceptions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of related experience.
- Must maintain the continuing education annually as assigned per regulatory standards.
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions.
- Proficient level of computer competency including Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook) and typing.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and ability to function in a team environment.
- Self-starter. Must possess the ability to work independently when instructed and manage your own schedule during work hours for efficiency.
- Must be able to prioritize and organize daily workflow.
- Maintains a competent level of expertise and knowledge of the requirements of various lending laws and rules.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- High level of integrity. Must conduct yourself in a manner conducive to the Smart Bank way and handle confidential information in a trustworthy manner.
- Must be able to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Willing to accept new ideas and methods and be agreeable to change.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management, peers and clients.
- Able to routinely stand, sit, bend and stoop.
- Frequently and regularly required movements using wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare and inspect documents or products and operate machinery.
- Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
- May be required to travel to training sessions or meetings.
