This role plays a critical part in supporting the design and delivery of electrical substation infrastructure that strengthens and expands the reliability of the power grid. The successful candidate will contribute to complex transmission and distribution projects while collaborating with experienced engineers and technical specialists.

This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to high-quality engineering solutions that support long-term grid reliability.

How You’ll Make an Impact What You’ll Do
  • Lead and support engineering design activities for electrical substation physical layouts
  • Develop and review engineering drawings including equipment layouts, elevations, control building layouts, and grounding plans
  • Utilize design tools such as AutoCAD to produce accurate engineering deliverables
  • Apply engineering judgment to develop efficient and practical design solutions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver projects on schedule and within scope
  • Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards
  • Support coordination with internal teams and project stakeholders to align on project objectives
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop physical design packages for electrical substation projects
  • Prepare and review general arrangement drawings, conduit and cable routing plans, grounding layouts, and bills of material
  • Perform engineering checks and quality reviews of technical deliverables
  • Support project planning, scoping, and execution efforts
  • Ensure work aligns with engineering standards, industry best practices, and applicable codes
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
Nice to Have
  • Experience supporting transmission, distribution, or utility infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with substation design standards and engineering best practices
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or designers
