Mesa seeks a Substation Physical Engineer responsible for the design, checking, and oversight of deliverables related to substation physical design projects. Responsibilities include creating and revising General Arrangements, Elevations, Sections, Control House Layouts, Grounding layouts, Conduit and Cable schedules, and Bill of Materials using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will oversee multiple projects and may supervise junior engineers and designers.

  • Utilize AutoCAD to create assigned deliverables.
  • Meet customer’s schedule and budget requirements.
  • Perform physical design with high accuracy.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Perform careful self-checking to ensure quality before peer review.
  • Review others’ work for accuracy and standards compliance.
  • Oversee multiple projects and supervise other designers and engineers as needed.
  • Perform project scoping activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers.

Qualifications

Education: Preferred Bachelor’s degree.

Experience: Required 8+ years of relevant project experience, including at least 6 years as a design engineer.
