Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on Terra Power’s Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re‑est Parks the U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funding to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. Terra Power, a leading advanced generation technology company founded by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, will be deploying its 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium.

The Natrium plant features an advanced, cost‑competitive reactor design that is safer, simpler, easier, and less costly to construct, less expensive to operate, and capable of providing energy that is competitive with fossil fuels. It also includes an innovative molten salt energy storage Í that complements solar and wind power by evening out production peaks during daylight or wind outages.

Combined, the reactor and storage output can generate more than 500 MWe of power.

Essential duties include performing pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Code.

"This position is designated as part‑time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership."

• Model the piping systems using Bentley Auto Pipe to verify piping flexibility, stability and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
• Perform stress review of isometrics based on span tables.
• Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost‑effective design.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.

• A/AB or certificate in Engineering/CAD with 3‑4 years of experience, or 5‑6 years of relevant work experience.

• Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
• Basic understanding of ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards.
• Prior experience using a computer pipe stress analysis program (Auto Pipe preferred).
