QualificationsEducation and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of full-time experience in teaching/instruction, teaching assistance, training, social services, or in providing services to individuals with disabilities.

Additional qualifying college coursework in education, social or behavioral science, business management, or other related field may be substituted for the required experience.

This classification performs vocational support services work of average difficulty. An employee in this class is responsible for providing training support to students and faculty and supervising student activities within the classroom. This classification performs responsibilities at the entry level under general supervision. This class differs from the DHS Campus Life Assistant in that incumbents of the latter are responsible for assisting students with adjusting to campus life, providing support for learning and training opportunities, and monitoring the health and wellness of the students.

TN Driver Standards
State of Tennessee positions that may involve driving responsibilities require candidates to meet the following minimum driver qualifications:
- A valid driver's license
- For the past five years, the candidate's driver record must not have record of the following violations: driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, more than 4 moving violations.
