Job Objective

This tenure‑track position manages the Radiologic Technology program’s clinical education component, ensuring compliance with JRCERT Standards and ARRT. Duties include coordinating clinical schedules, supervising students and preceptors, evaluating clinical performance, serving as a liaison between the institution and clinical sites, contributing to accreditation processes, curriculum development, student support, and providing course instruction.

Essential Job Functions
  • 65% – Curriculum Maintenance and Development
    • Teaching at the clinical and lab level
    • Ensuring the curriculum is current, relevant, and aligned with program standards
    • Participating in ad hoc committees and suggesting scheduling and staffing to ensure coverage
  • 15% – Leadership
    • Representing the program in advisory board meetings, adjunct orientation, and advocating for program needs
    • Coordinating adjunct recruitment and hiring; evaluating adjuncts and clinical sites each semester
    • Ensuring compliance with hospital regulations and regulatory bodies
  • 10% – Assessment
    • Providing course reports at faculty meetings and discussing assessment adjustments
    • Coordinating assessment directives and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
  • 10% – Other duties as assigned
Non‑essential Functions
  • Advising
    • Tutoring as needed in learning styles and test‑taking strategies
    • Maintaining reasonable office hours and student availability
    • Monitoring academic progress and holding conferences with students as needed
  • Faculty Service
    • Serving on committees and task forces appointed by the President
    • Participating in community activities and professional events
    • Attending faculty meetings and contributing to college goals
  • Professional Development (Teaching and Discipline)
    • Engaging in continuing professional development
Job Standards
  • Graduate of a JRCERT‑accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Bachelor’s degree in the discipline and pursuit of a Master’s degree within 3 years of hire
  • Currently registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Minimum one year of experience as an instructor/clinical instructor in a JRCERT‑accredited program
Critical Skills/Expertise/Experience
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, good organizational skills, and capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Clear oral and written English proficiency
    • Ability to speak and write English clearly
    • Ability to understand written and spoken English
  • Effective communication in an academic/healthcare environment (previous employment in such institutions)
  • Commitment to teaching excellence, lifelong learning, and community college mission
  • Maintenance of a respectful learning environment among students, colleagues, staff, and administrators
  • Evidence of leadership, responsibility, initiative, and alignment with the college’s mission, vision, and values
Job Location

The primary location involves clinical facilities and institutions used by Pellissippi State Community College for Radiologic Technology student experiences, including all site campuses.
