Project Estimator

Aqua-Chem is seeking a Project Estimator to manage the full project lifecycle, from calculating initial construction costs and material take-offs to overseeing on‑site execution, scheduling, and budget management. The role bridges pre‑construction and construction phases, ensuring projects are profitable, accurately priced, and delivered on time.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Onsite;
Knoxville, TN

$65,000 – $100,000 per year (salary/exempt), dependent on experience

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project scope to perform accurate material take‑offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Prepare detailed, competitive bid packages and submit proposals to clients.
• Coordinate on‑site activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with project plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and perform job cost analysis to prevent cost overruns.
• Act as the primary contact for clients, negotiate contracts, and secure vendor quotes.
• Independently perform tasks within the project budget and schedule.
• Communicate with purchasing and project team about parts to be delivered.
• Carry out the work according to set requirements.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

• 2+ years in construction estimating and project management.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Foundation, AutoCAD, Excel).
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
• Basic understanding of water chemistry.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings.
• Able to work overtime as required.
