Commercial Roofing Superintendent
Rackley Roofing Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent to manage all aspects of commercial roofing projects, from planning and budgeting to execution and close‑out. The candidate will ensure safe, timely, on‑budget, high‑quality project delivery.
Role and Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and oversee multiple commercial roofing projects simultaneously.
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Review contracts, specifications, and drawings to ensure project compliance.
- Monitor job progress and resolve issues proactively.
- Conduct site visits to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Provide regular progress updates to clients and senior management.
- Track material usage, labor costs, and project financials.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and building codes.
- Support and mentor field leaders (superintendents, foremen).
- Inspect substrates when visiting and verify they meet installation requirements.
- Verify shop drawings, scope of work, and manufacturers’ instructions are followed exactly.
- Confirm proper application of adhesives, fasteners, lapping, jointing, staggering, heat, and rate according to specifications.
- Ensure all materials meet construction document requirements.
- Store and protect materials properly on‑site.
- Maintain materials under correct environmental conditions.
- 5–7 years of commercial roofing or construction management experience.
- Strong knowledge of TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, and metal roofing systems.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, and schedules.
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, etc.) preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; experience may substitute.
The role requires standing, walking, and hands‑on duties for extended periods. The employee may climb, balance, lift heavy objects, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed. Safe performance of job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and local standards may require reasonable accommodation.
