Diesel Technician

Position Overview

North Knoxville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is looking for a hardworking diesel technician to work in our service facility. The right candidate will have diesel experience, be ready to work plenty of hours, and thrive in a family‑owned environment that offers major medical insurance, a retirement plan, paid vacation, paid training, and more.

$35.00/hr – $50.00/hr (paid based on experience; flag hours)

• Document and perform work as outlined on a repair order following all dealership and factory standards.
• Drain oil from crankcase and refill with the required amount; replace oil and air filters.
• Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary.
• Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Keep shop area neat and clean.
• Maintain accountability for all dealership‑owned tools and manuals.
• Operate all tools and equipment safely.
• Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test‑drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so customers are well‑informed of any additional services needed.
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Positive, friendly attitude and customer‑service mentality.
• Enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.
