Rail Planner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rail Planner to join a busy rail operations and planning team based at the Ferrybridge Operations Centre. This role plays a key part in delivering safe, efficient, and commercially effective train plans in line with industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out planning workloads efficiently and effectively in compliance with Network Code and wider industry planning processes
Work collaboratively within the planning team to ensure the weekly train plan is delivered accurately and on time
Liaise with relevant industry stakeholders and contacts as required
Produce train plans that maximise operational efficiency and profitability while meeting customer and service requirements
Ensure all plans and diagrams are compliant with internal standards and industry criteria

Skills & Experience Required
Good knowledge of freight train operations and a sound understanding of railway geography
Strong planning and organisational skills
Ability to produce clear and compliant operational diagrams for frontline staff
Good IT skills, including experience with:
Voyagerplan (or similar train planning software)
TOPS / TRUST
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Additional Information
The role will involve occasional travel and may require overnight stays away from home
