Shift: Day Shift; M-F 8AM to 5PM

Peer Support Specialist Pay Range:

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education and experience as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Make Your Lived Experience Matter Every Day

We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist

SS) who uses lived experience with mental health, substance use, or psychological trauma to support individuals on their recovery journey. This role is built on trust, connection, and hope. It offers support that clinical training alone cannot replicate. As a PSS, you will serve as a positive role model for recovery and work as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team.

Your role is to help individuals build stability, independence, and a life they find meaningful.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Within your first year, you will:

  • Build trusted, supportive relationships with peers by meeting them where they are, including homes, community locations, clinics, and treatment settings.
  • Provide consistent emotional support and encouragement during clinic visits while helping peers feel heard, respected, and empowered.
  • Facilitate or co‑lead peer support groups that create safe spaces for growth, connection, and recovery.
  • Support peers in identifying recovery goals and taking concrete steps toward independence. This may include budgeting, transportation, healthcare access, and benefit navigation.
  • Ensure peers remain connected to community resources by offering follow‑up support that promotes long‑term stability.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation that meets all state, federal, grant, and agency requirements.
  • Model ethical and professional behavior that reflects the NCC AP NCPRSS Code of Ethics while strengthening trust with peers, families, and providers.

  • You use your lived experience responsibly and share insight when it will best empower others.
  • You collaborate with clinicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure peer voices are represented in care planning.
  • You recognize when services are no longer beneficial and support respectful, appropriate transitions.
What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Current Oregon Health Authority Certified Peer Support Specialist certification, or Youth Peer Support Specialist certification where applicable. Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
  • At least 18 years of age and not listed on the Medicaid provider exclusion list.
  • Self‑identification as one or more of the following:
    • A person currently or formerly receiving mental health services.
    • A person in recovery from an addiction disorder who meets the two‑year abstinence requirement where applicable.
  • Successful completion of:
    • An OHA‑approved 40‑hour Peer Support Specialist Training.
    • OHA application requirements and a criminal history background check.
  • A valid Oregon driver’s license with an insurable driving record and current automobile insurance.
Professional Standards You’ll Uphold
  • Participation in at least two clinical supervision sessions per month totaling a minimum of two hours.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements, including electronic communication standards.
