Required QualificationsThe CT Technologist must have qualifications and experience deemed adequate by the department Director and Lead Technologist to operate CT equipment and evaluate images. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment are essential. An Oregon Radiologic Technologist license is required, along with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in CT, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 2 months of hire, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred QualificationsPrior CT Technologist experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
Licensure, Registration & CertificationOregon licensure, and ARRT registered in CT or within 12 months of hire date.
Typical Physical & Mental DemandsThis position requires medium to very heavy physical exertion, including the ability to lift and transfer patients weighing up to 300 pounds. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods, as well as performing repetitive motions associated with imaging procedures. The CT Technologist must be able to take on‑call shifts on a rotational basis to ensure 24‑hour CT coverage. The position also demands critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining patient safety and quality standards.
EssentialJob Functions
- Maintain a professional, positive, and compassionate atmosphere for patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
- Perform all aspects of CT scanning, including patient positioning, scanning protocols, and image quality review.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and ensure proper use of shielding and exposure settings.
- Assist with training and mentoring technologists and students as directed.
- Operate and maintain CT equipment; troubleshoot issues and initiate repair service as needed.
- Ensure accurate documentation and completion of patient records in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with physicians and care team members to provide timely and accurate results.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
High School or better.
Licenses & CertificationsARRT, BLS Basic Life Support, License Generic.
