POSITION SUMMARY
This dual‑role position offers a unique opportunity for a qualified professional to serve both as a practitioner within a healthcare or organizational setting and as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructor for the Medical Assistant (MA) program in partnership with Klamath Community College (KCC). The successful candidate will divide their time between performing industry‑related or administrative duties within their field and delivering MA instruction and/or capstone experiences to high school students on a CTE campus.
This position is designed for a healthcare professional with subject‑matter expertise who is passionate about workforce development and supporting student pathways into postsecondary education, apprenticeships, and healthcare careers. Instruction will emphasize industry‑aligned competencies, hands‑on clinical skills, and real‑world applications that align with KCC curriculum standards, CTE pathways, and Medical Assistant program and capstone requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare‑related field or equivalent professional experience with certification.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in a healthcare environment (clinical or administrative). Prior teaching or mentoring experience is preferred but not required.
- Licenses/Certifications: Necessary certifications as applicable to experience (e.g., RN, LPN, CMA, etc).
Medium physical demands capability required. Ability to lift ten pounds. Able to work within time constraints; high‑stress situations and multiple tasks; maintain a professional appearance; be courteous to co‑workers and patients/families; participate in and promote teamwork.

- Teach healthcare‑related courses, including but not limited to medical terminology, anatomy, patient care, and medical ethics, to high school students.
- Develop, plan, and implement curriculum for the assigned CTE courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and educational goals.
- Provide hands‑on instruction, mentorship, and support to students to enhance their understanding of healthcare professions.
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and achievement.
- Collaborate with school staff to monitor student progress, implement assessments, and provide guidance on career exploration and development.
- Organize and facilitate career‑focused events, such as internships, job shadowing opportunities, and guest speakers from the medical field.
- Flexibility and adaptability to effectively balance dual responsibilities in both the healthcare/industry setting and the educational environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both healthcare professionals and high school students.
- A passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting students interested in healthcare careers.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills to successfully manage and prioritize both roles.
- Knowledge of Career and Technical Education (CTE) standards and educational practices for high school students is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Flexibility to adjust schedules based on medical center and teaching needs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods in both clinical and classroom settings.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

- Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, with separate pay structures for the medical center and teaching roles.
