  • Serve as liaison between contractor workforce and PNS supervisors
  • Participate in government status meetings
  • Validate inspection metrics and ensure minimum productivity requirements are met
  • Ensure all inspection records are complete, accurate, and audit‑ready

The Supervisor must be reachable during all assigned shift hours and identify backup leadership coverage when absent.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in precision measurement and machined parts inspection
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in an industrial, shipyard, nuclear, or defense manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience with precision inspection techniques, hardness testing, surface finish measurement, material verification (acid spot, magnet, XRF, LIBBS), and optical comparator and surface plate inspection setups
  • Experience inspecting and certifying material in accordance with NAVSEA standards, including NAVSEA 0948‑LP‑045‑7010 (Material Control), NAVSEA SS800‑AG‑MAN‑010/P‑9290 (Deep Submergence Systems), and NAVSEA T9044‑AD‑MAN‑010 (Submarine Fly‑By‑Wire Systems)
  • Experience with L1 certification of Marotta and Vacco reducing manifolds, fasteners under System 21 and 22 gaging requirements, welding commodities and mill product inspections, and MIL‑STD‑792 marking methods
  • OSHA safety training and certification
  • Active DoD clearance (Secret or higher required)
Ideal Candidate

  • Clear, disciplined communication
  • Ability to manage performance expectations in high‑accountability environments
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to enforce standards while maintaining team cohesion
  • On‑site at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (Kittery, ME)
  • Secure access facility (DBIDS credentials required)
  • Radiological indoctrination required
  • First Shift (0600‑1430); potential Second Shift expansion in option years
  • Overtime may be required
