Job DutiesPosition Summary
As a campus expert in institutional research data, this position leads complex analyses, data modeling, and dashboard development with a focus on research contracts and grants data. Incumbent works closely with stakeholders, other university analysts, VC Finance leadership, and the VC Research division to determine emergent and high priority data and analytical needs. This position engages in data analytics that support decision making, strategic planning, and mandatory reporting.

- Requires expert knowledge in data collection and analysis techniques, along with database administration and programming tools; understanding and experience using statistics or social science research techniques; detailed knowledge of organizational principles and procedures involved in handling sensitive data (for example, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Export Controlled or business confidential data (e.g., covered by NDAs), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA, or Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, or FERPA).
- Expert active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, good interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Expert ability to present complex findings and recommendations in a clear concise manner verbally and in writing.
