, specifically in food production. This is an excellent opportunity to lead full-cycle plant operations, optimize supply chain functions, and foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Position Summary
The Plant Manager will oversee all operational aspects of a food manufacturing facility, including production, supply chain, staffing, maintenance, safety, and quality. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader with a strong background in manufacturing operations and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily plant operations including production, procurement, scheduling, inventory, and maintenance
- Align supply chain strategies with production goals to ensure operational excellence
- Supervise and mentor a cross-functional team of supervisors, technicians, and production staff
- Monitor and improve KPIs to drive productivity and reduce waste
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards
- Work closely with leadership on budgeting, planning, and forecasting
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in production and logistics workflows
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure timely material availability
- Develop and implement employee training and development programs
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of plant or operations management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership skills with experience overseeing both production and supply chain functions
- In-depth understanding of supply chain, logistics, production workflows, and inventory control
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering
, or a related field is an asset
