Adecco is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our client’s team for a 3-month contract based in Mitchell, ON
. Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Accountant provides financial and analytical support to plant management. The incumbent ensures data integrity of the plant’s financial reporting in accordance with established corporate standards and requirements.
- Pay rate: $31–$34/hour
- Location: Mitchell, ON
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare, review, and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, including costing, inventory, yields, utility usage, and labour reports, in accordance with plant management requirements, company policy, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Support plant management in noch variances between actual plant costs and standard costs, including variances related to finished goods, products, and raw materials, as well as the impact of purchase price variances (PPV) on plant financial performance. Ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist and support plant management with various departmental initiatives through ongoing analysis and identification of improvement opportunities.
- Perform product audits to ensure product costs accurately reflect production processes.
- Ensure accurate reporting of month-end physical counts and confirm production inputs are received in time to meet production requirements. Reconcile finished goods inventory levels through analysis of inventory, production, and sales data.
- Provide backup support and vacation relief to the finance team and complete ad‑hoc projects as assigned.
- Comply with and maintain approved corporate standard internal reporting requirements to ensure accurate and clear reporting of plant performance. Act as the primary contact for plant financial reporting and communication.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant account reconciliation experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience within an integrated manufacturing environment.
