Overview

Delivery Driver CDL - Kissimmee, FL - Pumps. CDL drivers transport goods between locations using tractor trailers and heavy trucks. They often travel extensive distances to deliver their loads and must adhere to traffic and safety regulations while still making their deliveries on time. Drivers must hold a commercial driver’s license and maintain their medical certification as required. Driving large vehicles can be difficult, so CDL drivers must be comfortable operating heavy machinery and have the hand-eye coordination to do it proficiently.

They are also legally required to have strong eyesight and hearing and be in good physical health.

Essential Functions
  • Loading, unloading and securing of equipment for transport
  • Local and regional hauling of equipment
  • Performs daily commercial vehicle inspection to ensure operational safety
  • Provides exceptional customer service standards for delivery service
  • Obtain required signatures on rental contracts, pick ups and exchange forms
  • Demonstrates safe and proper equipment usage to customer at point of delivery
  • Completes reports for out-going and returned equipment
  • Completes log book and trip sheets, meeting all D.O.T. and company record keeping requirements

Required

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Valid Class A driver’s license required; medical certification
  • 2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
  • Skilled at driving large vehicles
  • Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
  • Physically and mentally fit

Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Work Environment
  • Work is primarily conducted in construction sites, equipment yards, and transportation routes
  • Regular exposure to heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment
  • Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind
  • Physically demanding environment with uneven terrain, dust, mud, and loud noise levels
  • Duties may involve shop-based tasks and fieldwork including remote job site travel
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times
  • PPE such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn
  • Must be comfortable operating around large equipment, confined spaces, or elevated positions
  • Lifting heavy components and materials is often required
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential as job site conditions and priorities change
Travel Required
  • Local travel required daily to job sites
Physical Demands
  • Requires a high level of physical stamina and mobility in jobsite and yard environments
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of tools, chains, tarps, and equipment up to 50+ pounds
  • Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working on uneven terrain
  • Climbing in and out of trucks, onto trailers, and occasionally equipment
  • Ability to work from heights and maintain balance on steps, ladders, or platforms
  • Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required for controls, tie-downs, and documentation
  • Must safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in hazardous driving conditions
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, and positioning of heavy materials
