Job Summary

A Ride Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of all equipment to ensure safe operation. This position focuses on repair, construction, troubleshooting park rides, and establishing preventive maintenance and inspection programs that maximize uptime and minimize costs.

None Key Objectives
  • Maintain safety standards on all attractions and rides.
  • Perform daily safety checks with attention to detail.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and overhauls ensuring compliance with manufacturer and park standards.
  • Diagnose and repair park equipment and miscellaneous items.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance calls.
  • Install and repair park features and structures.
  • Inspect and listen to machinery to identify malfunctions.
  • Possess mechanical knowledge of park rides.
  • Handle multiple work orders efficiently.
  • Assist in ride installation and dismantling.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist in ride evacuations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Address plumbing, electrical, welding, HVAC concerns using specialized skills.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and safety policies.
  • Report safety concerns or ideas to the Maintenance Director.
  • Provide excellent service to guests and team members.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in work areas.
  • Maintain a professional image.
  • Perform other duties as needed for park operations.
  • Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of verifiable mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial or amusement setting.
  • Knowledge of mechanical principles such as gear ratios, torque, and use of hand tools.
  • Ability to complete ride-specific training and competency tests.
  • Effective communication skills with guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, work independently, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Physical ability to walk and stand extensively, climb/ascend heights.
  • Exposure to fumes, dust, odors, and chemicals.
  • Compliance with drug-free workplace policies, including pre-employment drug testing.
  • Successful background and motor vehicle checks, if applicable.
  • Physical Requirements

    The role involves various physical tasks. Candidates must meet these requirements:

    Strength and Endurance
    • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
    • Perform climbing, bending, stooping, and standing for long periods.
    Manual Dexterity
    • Use tools and perform detailed tasks with good hand-eye coordination.
    • Use both hands simultaneously as needed.
    Mobility
    • Move around the park and maintenance areas.
    • Navigate confined spaces and elevated platforms.
    Flexibility
    • Reach overhead, crouch, kneel, and assume awkward positions.
    Vision
    • Read manuals, inspect components, distinguish colors.
    Hearing
    • Respond to verbal instructions, alarms, safety signals.
    Balance and Coordination
    • Work safely on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated surfaces.
    Environmental Tolerance
    • Work outdoors in various weather conditions and noise levels.
    Safety Awareness
    • Maintain constant awareness to ensure safety for self and others.
