Job Summary

This position is responsible for interacting with customers and associates, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing WOW! customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

As a Team Member, it is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, as you must be able to fulfill all of the following requirements:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.

• Perform duties of Groom Technician, including:
  • Safe Pet Handling
  • Bathing, Drying, Brushing, and Combing all coat types
  • Nail Trimming
  • Ear Cleaning
  • Preparatory Hair Trimming
  • Basic Clipper and Finishing Techniques
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Equipment Handling and Maintenance
  • Ensuring animal safety and well-being
  • Inspecting animals for external signs of parasites, disease, or injury and reporting findings
  • Practicing Safety and Sanitization protocols
  • Sanitizing grooming tools and equipment
  • Generating business through customer calls, appointment scheduling, and follow-ups
  • Maintaining pet client records
  • Operating computer systems as needed
  • Store recovery if needed
  • Caring for live animals and maintaining holding tanks
  • Completing all related documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

Comfortable working with dogs and cats, demonstrating patience and compassion. Must provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase them.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent;
Level 1 Paragon Training and certification through Petsense preferred. Ability to read, write, and count accurately.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

Working indoors with moderate noise, exposure to wet conditions, sharp grooming tools, pet waste, and animals of various sizes and temperaments. Shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours. Emphasize safety and a productive environment.

Working Conditions

Indoor environment with exposure to noise, wet conditions, and animals. Shifts vary, with a focus on safety and adherence to guidelines.

Physical Requirements

Non-sedentary role requiring physical stamina to move and operate equipment, lift animals up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform grooming tasks. Must have effective communication skills and the ability to complete training.
