Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – ICU Trauma Neuro to lead a high-acuity critical care service line within a tertiary acute care setting. This role provides operational, clinical, and people leadership across a Neuro Trauma ICU and a Central Telemetry unit, supporting a multidisciplinary team focused on quality outcomes, patient safety, and exceptional patient experience.
This is an ideal opportunity for a critical care leader ready to manage complex patient populations while driving evidence-based practice and staff engagement.
Responsibilities- Provide operational and clinical leadership for ICU Trauma Neuro and Central Telemetry units
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care aligned with evidence-based practice
- Oversee daily unit operations including staffing, throughput, admissions, and discharges
- Monitor quality metrics, clinical outcomes, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous performance improvement
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective care coordination
- Manage staff scheduling, productivity, and appropriate skill mix based on patient acuity
- Lead employee engagement, coaching, performance management, and professional development
- Support recruitment, retention, and succession planning for nursing staff
- Manage operating expenses and identify opportunities for cost efficiency
- Lead initiatives to enhance patient experience and service recovery when needed
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing leadership experience (ICU, MICU, SICU, CVICU)
- Strong critical care clinical background
- Demonstrated experience managing high-acuity units and multidisciplinary teams
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months
- RN Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
