Full time. Day‑Weekend shift, schedule:
Tuesday‑Friday 12:00 p‑8:30 p and Saturday 8:00 a‑4:30 p.

• Contact insurance companies and physician offices by phone, fax, or online portal to obtain insurance benefits, eligibility, and secure authorization information.
• Ensure every effort is made to obtain payer authorization to protect the financial stability of the hospital.
• Cross‑train between 2–5 areas (imaging, surgery, inpatient, pre‑registration, rehab) to assist in multiple areas as needed.
• Review clinical records when following up on authorization requests directly with payors.
• Escalate peer‑to‑peer requests to physician offices and assist in scheduling these requests to ensure an authorization decision is made prior to the date of service.

• Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing confidential patient information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs.
• Ability to operate general office machines (computer, facsimile, copier, scanner).
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work efficiently.
• Professional and effective communication in English, both verbal and written.
• Responsive to ever‑changing hospital needs and act accordingly.
• Follow complex instructions and procedures with close attention to detail.
• Familiarity with medical procedures, terminology, and modality requirements.
• Scheduling experience (preferred).
• Intermediate medical terminology (preferred).
• Bilingual – English/Spanish (preferred).
• Healthcare financial services experience (preferred).

• Associate degree [Preferred] or GED.
• 1+ year customer service required; 1+ year direct patient access required.
• 2+ years direct patient access or customer service preferred.
• Prior collections experience required.

• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) – Preferred.
• Certified Revenue Cycle Rep (CRCR) – Preferred.

Work requirements:

$18.69 – $29.89 per hour.
