This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will perform general duties involved in the precision cleaning and inspection of aerospace hardware to support Blue Origin’s launch facility and test stand programs for various spaceflight systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

• Clean and passivate hardware using means such as solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods.
• Safely handle hardware utilizing overhead cranes, hoists, and associated lifting equipment.
• Use titration and other direct measurement methods to analyze and correct CPV Lab solvent/chemical systems.
• Inspect hardware using visual, UV light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods.
• Package accepted hardware and supplies for storage or shipment.
• Perform shop-level maintenance and calibration of equipment such as pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, etc.
• Set up and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
• Conduct general housekeeping of Precision Cleaning Lab and Certified Clean Room area via 5S.
• Follow safety regulations and wear protective eyewear, steel-toe boots, and other applicable personal protective equipment.

Gross clean & precision clean complex hardware/knowledge of cleaning chemicals/system start-ups/borescope & dew point testing

• 5+ years of experience in aerospace precision cleaning or another related field.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or relevant field
• Experience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
• Expertise in various applications, including adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets.
• Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

• Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field
• Experience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
• Willingness to work overtime.
