Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon

Overview

A well-established healthcare organization in Central Florida is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Trauma / Acute Care Surgeon to join a busy Level II Trauma Center. This role involves high-acuity trauma and emergency general surgery with shared call coverage and strong multidisciplinary support. The practice serves a predominantly Hispanic and Puerto Rican patient population. Spanish language proficiency is required to ensure safe, effective communication and optimal patient outcomes.

• Provide operative and non-operative care for trauma and emergency general surgery patients
• Participate in a shared trauma and emergency general surgery call rotation
• Perform life-saving procedures in high-acuity trauma settings
• Collaborate with ICU, anesthesia, emergency medicine, neurosurgery, and orthopedic teams
• Participate in trauma quality improvement initiatives and registry activities
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Fellowship training in Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, or Surgical Critical Care preferred
• Eligible for or active Florida medical license

• 2+ years of post-training experience in trauma or acute care surgery
• Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center
• Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred
• Familiarity with ACS trauma verification standards and trauma registries

• Rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Shared trauma and emergency general surgery call coverage
