Overview
Position summary:
Drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, pricing accuracy, proper signing, inventory cleanliness, and assessing economic trends and community needs. Oversees stocking and rotation of merchandise, setting up displays, and securing fragile and high‑shrink merchandise.
- Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback; communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
- Introduce and lead company change efforts with clear expectations and guidance; implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams.
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model; manage and support customer service initiatives including community outreach programs and ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved with action plans for improvement.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognizing performance, and ensuring staffing needs are met.
- Control unexplained losses by identifying performance goals, reviewing variances to inventory reports, and conducting operational and preinventory reviews; gather data, audits, results, and monitor deficiency trends; identify and communicate corrective actions to inventory controls.
- Influence and implement control corrections; train managers and associates on operational controls and processes across multiple stores; detect, deter, investigate, and resolve policy violations and criminal activity; conduct investigations and, when needed, provide evidence and testimony.
- Partner with other investigative entities as part of collaborative efforts; monitor safety and risk controls; supervise safety team members; identify accident trends and implement prevention plans; communicate safety plans and improve workplace safety.
- Manage facility‑level training and execution of asset protection, safety, and receiving procedures; ensure compliance with policies and procedures; identify gaps, determine training needs, and deliver training as needed.
- Manage claims and receiving operations; ensure timely processing of claims (damaged, defective, returned, liquidated items) and proper documentation; provide direction for claims or receiving issues.
- Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities and assignments by building relationships with key stakeholders; support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; communicate goals, build accountability, and promote continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards; support Open Door policy and apply it in business processes and practices; foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and belonging.
- Attract and retain talent, empower and develop staff, recognize contributions, and act with integrity; uphold Walmart values and contribute to a regenerative company mindset by supporting associates, customers, and communities; participate in local giving and waste reduction efforts.
- Serve customers by delivering results with the customer in mind; apply EDLP and EDLC business models to planning; balance short and long‑term priorities and consider stakeholders in decision making.
