Social Worker
35 hours per week

£46,503 - £49,295 / £25.48 - £27.01 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
Orkney Health and Care are looking to appoint enthusiastic, skilled and experienced Social Workers to Authority Wide Services.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a professional social work service in support of foster carers, kinship carers, unpaid carers adopters those in receipt of aftercare support as well as permanency related work.
You will be part of a supportive team of social work staff based at the Council Offices in Kirkwall. We will provide regular, reflective supervision on an individual basis and small group supervision. Orkney Health and Care is committed to developing our staff, ensuring that personal development plans reflect your own and the service goals and aspirations.
All qualified Social Workers in Orkney Health and Care are required to undertake out of hours standby duty on a rota basis.
You should hold a degree or Post Graduate Qualification in Social Work that allows registration with the Scottish Social Services Council as a Social Worker.
You must also be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council as a Social Worker (Applications for those currently in process of registration may be considered).
You must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
This post is subject to Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with children and protected adults.
