Overview
We are currently recruiting two established 5-man Groundworks Squads for a major island-based infrastructure project involving cross-country trenching and cable duct installation.
The works consist of trenching within a 50m demarcation wayleave zone along a 16km route, installing trefoil ducting for supply cables from an offshore connection point to a substation.
The route crosses landowners’ fields, public roads, and watercourses, with 7 Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) locations along the alignment.

Scope of Works

• Groundworks excavations for cable duct installation

• Trenching and ducting across mixed terrain

• Working within controlled wayleave corridors

• Supporting operations around HDD entry and exit points

• Strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental controls
All operatives will work directly under the General Foreman, taking instruction solely from them.

Squad Composition

– Minimum Requirements
Each 5-man squad must include:

• Ganger / Supervisor

• Excavator Operator

• Dumper Operator

• Banksman

• All operatives must hold valid CSCS Cards
Experience on utilities, cable routes, or large-scale civils projects is highly advantageous.

Travel & Accommodation

• Travel provided – flights or ferry to and from the island

• Transport provided on the island

• Accommodation provided, initially in shared housing

• Potential to be housed in a fully serviced camp, including:
– Recreation facilities
– Canteen providing meals
– Laundry facilities

Working Pattern

• 11 days on / 3 days off rotation

• 07:00 – 18:00 working hours

• Long-term, consistent work on a flagship infrastructure project
