Job Title: Account Manager

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 OTE

Benefits: Company wide bonus scheme, 4% pension, private healthcare & dental plan (full benefits document available)

Holiday: 23 days, rising to 28 days with service

The Company

My client is a specialist packaging distributor supplying polypropylene, laminates, and special films to the Food and FMCG sectors. They support a range of well‑known brands such as Greggs, Premier Foods (Mr Kipling), and Burtons Biscuits, delivering reliable, service‑led packaging solutions.

The Role

We are recruiting an Account Manager to provide exceptional service and day‑to‑day support to a portfolio of established customer accounts. This role has become available due to a recent departure and forms part of their ongoing growth plans.

The position is primarily office‑based, with regular UK‑wide customer visits to maintain relationships and ensure customer satisfaction. This is not a new business sales role — the focus is on account servicing, coordination, and relationship management. Training will be provided to support light upselling of additional service lines where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of existing customer accounts
  • Ensure accounts are serviced effectively, professionally, and in line with agreed expectations
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships through regular communication and customer visits
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and issue resolution
  • Manage day‑to‑day account queries, pricing support, and ongoing administration
  • Monitor customer requirements and proactively address any service issues
  • Support account development by identifying opportunities to enhance service offerings
  • Visit customer sites across the UK as required (pool cars available; travel expenses covered)
Experience & Skills Required
  • At least 2 years' experience in an Account Manager or Customer Account role within the packaging industry
  • Knowledge of flexible packaging would be a strong advantage
  • Strong customer service and relationship‑building skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative, service‑led approach
  • Full UK driving licence
