• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go or C++.
• 2 years of experience with developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies and storage.

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with distributed, multi-tenant systems (e.g., cloud services/runtimes).
• Experience in deploying security isolation technologies (e.g., memory safe languages like Rust, Micro
  
  VMs).
• Experience with Kubernetes.

Big Query Infrastructure is looking for software engineers that can fully own and drive forward large projects with outsized impact. Building on Google systems you will work closely with Big Query component teams to ensure Big Query infrastructure is fast and reliable. This role requires an understanding of infrastructure with expertise in reliably shipping quality releases at speed.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000‑$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Write and test product or system development code.
• Guide design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues.
