Job Description

In this role, you will be writing code in C# that drives the robotic arms that test all of the Surface devices. Join our team as a Software Test Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining the software framework that executes all automated testing in our lab. An ideal candidate will have experience writing code in C# and will have robotics experience.

Software Test Engineer

• Become an expert on our proprietary software framework used for robot testing.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues using C# as the primary programming language.
• Develop and implement new tests and solutions, enhancing functionality and efficiency.
• Write and modify C# code to fix bugs and introduce new features as needed.
• Work independently on projects while also collaborating with a team to meet engineering goals.

• Proven experience with C# programming and software debugging.
• Excellent command of English with strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues clearly and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage activities and work independently on complex projects.
• Experience testing on Windows environments.
• Experience using applications with GUI and command line interfaces.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.

• Hands‑on experience in managing and debugging robotic systems is preferred.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve both mechanical and software issues in robotic applications.
• Experience in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with additional programming languages and software development tools.
• Experience working with robot fixtures.
• Experience programming in C# or Python.
• BSEE or BSCS, Hardware test, Electrical Engineering.

Hours are 8am‑5pm, but you'll need to be available to work weekends and nights up to 11:00pm some weeks.

The engineer will be responsible for testing hardware devices such as laptops and tablets for the Touch/Pen, Keyboard/Touchpad, and Sensors subsystems. You will work with a team of developers, test engineers, and product owners to ensure that the hardware is tested and validated thoroughly. The engineer will be assigned work through ADO work items. The role offers flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

This is a Permanent position based out of Redmond, WA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
