The stocker is responsible to perform duties as directed by the Grocery Manager and members of Store Management,for the successful operation of the Grocery department. The Grocery Clerkis responsible to see that all Kennies customers are provided with the best customer service available
Requirements- EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience required. Training will be provided. - LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of this organization. - MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
None. - REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Job Responsibilities
- To greet, respond to questions, and explain store policies to all guests in a courteous manner.
- To prepare the back room for receipt of merchandise, unload trucks and sort cases according to aisle or pallet.
- To clean store floors, check-lanes, carts, restrooms, parking lot, and shelves, while safely using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- To load stocking carts and pallets, transport cases to sales floor, match the case strip to the shelf tag or stock, place merchandise in the designated area, and "face" the front row of each display.
- To assure the safety of self, guests and teammates by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately.
- Remove all broken containers, packing materials, boxes, and trash from the sales floor or guests’ pathway immediately.
- To understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of a baler, case cutter, pallet jack and fork lift (must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack, forklift, baler, and cutters).
- To count and record individual items of merchandise for inventory.
- To manually price mark/label merchandise without an UPC code.
- To move damaged, unsalable or "returnable" products from shelves to the backroom, sorting the materials into bins for return to the damage reclaim center.
- To use the proper case opening and product stacking techniques to prevent damage to merchandise.
- To remove trash from the aisle, operating the baler, put the compacted bale on a pallet and load salvage on to trucks.
- To change signs, light bulbs, tags and price markers on the shelf display.
- To assist cashier's by bagging and carry out merchandise when needed.
- To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to guests during peak periods of business.
