Grocery​/Center Store Leader

Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals, monitor and control quality assurance standards, and support day‑to‑day operations of Grocery, Natural Foods, Adult Beverage and Drug/GM. • Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Understand store layout and locate products.
• Implement promotional plans and stay current with ads.
• Monitor expenses, inventory conditions, and manage the inventory process.
• Train associates on inventory, stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising and maintain product conditions.
• Integrate best practices into daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with merchandising, labor control, expense control, loss prevention, safety and food safety rules.
• Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions and report incidents.
• Supervise and coach direct reports, conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Management experience
• Grocery and retail experience
• Second language proficiency
• Completion of the WAFC Retail Management Certificate
