Overview
Wage Range: $25.64 - $41.00 per hour. Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Job SummaryResponsible for scheduling all inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures with standards established by Evergreen Health Surgical Services and Evergreen Health Surgical Center. Responsible for obtaining necessary insurance pre-authorizations. Assists in other clerical duties required for the efficient operations of the clinic.
Primary Duties- Schedules surgeries in accordance with availability of space, staffing and equipment, for surgical cases done at Evergreen Health for inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures.
- Works cooperatively with the schedulers at Evergreen Health surgical facilities.
- Obtains insurance prior authorizations.
- Obtains insurance benefits, including estimation of copays and deductibles and communicates same to patient.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 2 years of scheduling experience in a medical environment
- Strong medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology.
- Keyboarding: 45 words per minute.
- Possess spelling, punctuation, grammar and numerical skills
- College or vocational training in medical terminology/insurance and billing
- Experience with surgery scheduling
- Knowledge of Medicare, DSHS, and other third party reimbursement regulation
