Part Time Weekend Certified Therapeutic Recreational Therapist
Fairfax Behavioral Health is seeking a Part‑time weekend Certified Therapeutic Recreational Therapist.
Responsibilities- Participate actively in interdisciplinary treatment planning for inpatient population.
- Define and implement activity therapy goals aligned with patient needs.
- Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling.
- Work under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.
Ensure that therapeutic recreation programs are appropriate to patients’ needs and interests, and directed toward restoring and maintaining optimal physical and psychosocial functioning.
Fairfax Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility)Founded in 1930, Fairfax Behavioral Health is a private, free‑standing mental health hospital that specializes in psychiatric and detox treatment. We serve Kirkland, Everett and Monroe, Washington, offering continuum of care and evidence‑based programs for behavioral health challenges.
Requirements & Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy / Leisure Studies from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Two (2) years of related experience with psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness (preferred).
- Licensure: Current Washington State CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) registration, or eligibility to sit for certification.
- Additional Requirements: Must obtain CPR, Handle With Care, Verbal De‑Escalation, and First Aid certifications (training provided in orientation).
- May be required to work overtime, flexible hours, and weekend rotations.
