Position Title: Mechanical Engineer

Position

Description:

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Mechanical Engineer opportunity.

• Develop products in a regulated medical device environment
• Participate in concept development workshops and activities
• CAD modeling and prototyping design concepts
• Create technical requirements based on various user, customer and business needs
• Perform trade off studies for various technical concepts based on technical requirements
• Work with suppliers to incorporate DFM and plan for tooling
• Prepare and execute design evaluations and tests
• Support verification activities including testing and writing protocols and reports
• Review design and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards
• Packaging of high voltage components
• Work with limited supervision.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of product development experience
• Ability to be a self-starter, seek new and better methods, and work with minimum supervision
• Demonstrates deep expertise in profession and medical device industry best practices
• Ability to collaborate within a Team environment and across functions
• Capability to discern relevant facts and in turn, effectively resolve issues
• Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment
• Demonstrates the understanding of deadlines and time limits, ability to accomplish goals, and the desire to win.

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities
• Knowledge of leading edge materials and manufacturing technologies
• Experience with Solid Modeling Design tools, CREO preferred
• Experience with PLM systems
• Experience with electromechanical packaging including PCBAs, flex circuits, connectors
• Experience with Injection molding, casting, sheet metal, cable design and fabrication processes
• Experience with FEA or other analysis tools for stress and thermal
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Hands on prototyping and 3D printing experience
• Experience with Design for Reliability, Manufacturing and Service
• Experience with Design for Six Sigma or other statistics based development methodologies.

• Pay Rate Range: $50-65/hr.
