Silicon Designs, Inc. is a 40+ year-old, successful, family-owned manufacturer of world-class, industrial and military-grade accelerometers. Our sensors are used across the world in almost every industry, from NASCAR to NASA and everything in between. The company headquarters and manufacturing facility is in Kirkland, WA, and this position will be based there.

The position works in a typical office environment with occasional visits to customer offices, factories, and project sites, typically in conjunction with trade shows.
This role is primarily conducted onsite.Some telecommuting is possible once proficient with the product and responsibilities. This position may involve hands‑on activities and has daily interaction with the President, VP of Operations, Sales Director, and Engineering, so being onsite is frequently necessary.
The position plays a valuable role, crossing borders into the Sales, Business Development, Technical Support, Marketing, Engineering, Product Development, and Project Management functions of the organization.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Develop and support existing channel partners and build new business partner relationships.
- “Second in command” supporting Sales Director, Technical Sales, and Customer Support efforts.
- Master product information through training and personal efforts.
- Answer customer questions, consulting with our engineering team when necessary.
- Provide pre‑ and post‑sales technical support to customers in a wide range of industrial and military applications.
- Prepare sales quotations, provide product recommendations, and enter orders.
- Gather appropriate diagnostic information and assist customers in troubleshooting setup and use issues.
- Identify potential opportunities with existing and new customers.
- Pursue leads from our website, trade shows, etc.
- Provide technical marketing input and assist the engineering team in design, test and implementation of new sensor products.
- Contribute to internal and external documentation such as knowledge articles, application notes, and FAQs
- Prepare materials, participate in product presentations, and provide remote and in‑person technical product training to customers, international distribution partners, and US‑based manufacturer’s representatives.
- Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers, and competition.
- Recognize failure trends and elevate to Engineering/ Manufacturing / QA as needed.
- Occasional travel to 4‑5 trade shows/year, Real a valid passport is necessary.
- Occasional travel to customer and/or potential customer locations for support and business development efforts.

Experience:
- Small company environment experience and comfort in a small business with ability to fit into company team very crucial.
- Ability to lead product development teams/efforts and act as voice of customer.
- Experience managing various customer sales & project management cycles
- Creative thinking and ability solve customer problems and put SDI’s best foot forward.
- Strong analytical and technical problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate across the engineering and managerial functions of a business.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Candidate must demonstrate the ability and willingness to communicate in a clear, concise, and diplomatic manner, as well as employ the concept of “know your audience.”
