DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The service advisor is the primary liaison between the service department and its customers. Service advisors are responsible for assisting their customers with service and maintenance needs and insuring the customers’ continued satisfaction with the dealership. The primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Connecting with owners at their vehicle on the service drive immediately upon arrival.
- Explaining all completed work and charges to customers
- Cashier customers, taking payment via cash, check or credit card.
- Effective communications between customers and technicians.
- Perform vehicle walk around, gathering owner information, and identifying primary reason for their visit.
- Clearly documenting and reviewing the items that are mentioned.
- Reviewing vehicle repair histories and verifying the need for maintenance and/or manufacturer recalls
- Providing the owner with what is needed on their vehicle and associated cost.
- Creating a clear expectation of when their vehicle will be complete. If unable to honor this promise, quick communication of our new commitment.
- Monitoring the progress of each vehicle throughout the day and updating owners as needed
- Verifying the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order, Contacting the owner to advise of completion.
